Hydrogenation of unactivated enamines to tertiary amines: rhodium complexes of fluorinated phosphines give marked improvements in catalytic activity

چکیده
In the hydrogenation of sluggish unactivated enamine substrates, Rh complexes of electron-deficient phosphines are demonstrated to be far more reactive catalysts than those derived from triphenylphosphine. These operate at low catalyst loadings (down to 0.01 mol %) and are able to reduce tetrasubstituted enamines. The use of the sustainable and environmentally benign solvent (R)-limonene for the reaction is also reported with the amine isolated by acid extraction.

Asymmetric Catalysis by Chiral Rhodium Complexes in Hydrogenation and Hydrosilylation Reactions
The preparation of optically active molecules needs a chiral auxiliary. It is important to use the minimum amount of this auxiliary, and from that point of view asymmetric catalysis is much more advantageous than stoichiometric asymmetric synthesis. Some homogeneous catalysts prepared from chiral complexes have become during the past few years a useful tool in asymmetric synthesis. The complexe...

The rhodium-catalyzed regioselective amination of tertiary allylic trichloroacetimidates with unactivated aromatic amines is a direct and efficient approach to the preparation of α,α-disubstituted allylic aryl amines in good yield and with excellent regioselectivity. This method is applicable to a variety of unactivated primary and secondary amines and allows for the preparation of reverse pren...

Inspired by nature's ability to regulate catalysis using physiological stimuli, azobenzene was incorporated into Rh(bis)diphosphine CO2 hydrogenation catalysts to photoinitiate structural changes to modulate the resulting catalytic activity. The rhodium bound diphosphine ligands (P(Ph2)-CH2-N(R)-CH2-P(Ph2)) contain the terminal amine of a non-natural amino acid, with the R-group being either β-...
متن کاملTandem hydrogenation and condensation of fluorinated α,β-unsaturated ketones with primary amines, catalyzed by nickel.
A simple homogeneous catalytic system based on nickel phosphine complexes has been developed for the transfer hydrogenation and condensation of α,β-unsaturated ketones to yield saturated ones and saturated imines using primary amines as hydrogen donors. Thus, a wide range of fluorinated 1,5-diaryl-1,4-pentadiene-3-ones were allowed to react with substituted benzylamines in the presence of [(dip...
